Horizontal Jumps Facilities

Fieldform were appointed by the main contractor ‘Interserve’ to carry out the design & build of three new horizontal jumps facilities, as part of the HLR schools development programme. The scope was to design a compliant, school and club level facility, for practice and competition.

Having been approved as a sub-contractor for each project, meeting the requirements for Interserve, Fieldform set about the construction of each facility, against deteriorating ground conditions as the autumn closed in, and under strict programme limitations handed down by the client. Each facility consisted of a 9x3m jump pit, complete with rubber topped kerbs and non-staining sports sand. By providing removable jump boards the new run-ups can be used for either long or triple jump take-off positions. The surface was finished with a texturised polymeric spray coat, applied in red terracotta.

Reading Girls School, Stospley High School and Longdean School now have a fantastic new horizontal jumps facility that can be used for future training and competitive events.
