In 2019, Fieldform were contracted by a private client based in Hampshire to design and install a new tennis court for domestic use. The proposed works was once used as a lawn tennis court and occupied a fantastic location adjacent to a beautiful farmhouse with views across the Hampshire countryside.
To create a high quality and site specific tennis court Fieldform worked closely with the client to design a family focused facility that could be used throughout the year. Design conversations included, type and height of fencing, type of surface – synthetic or macadam plus the inclusion of other facilities including a retractable cricket practice net.
The build involved removal of existing soils, construction of a suitable stone formation and installation of edging details. Levels were adjusted to tie-in with the surrounding topography, with the overall tennis court area dictated by the existing site features. On completion of the stone formation, a two-part macadam base was installed complete with a bespoke fencing system to the client’s needs and access requirements. The new synthetic playing surface was created using Tiger Turf’s Advantage Pro.

We came across Fieldform through word of mouth from a trusted friend. We had a tricky space, making an old grass tennis court of an odd shape into a new, useable Astro Court for an active family. Richard listened to our requirements and was very adaptable to the way we wanted to court to be and kept within the parameters of the existing space. He worked around our pleached hedging and the landscaping that was already in place. He was able to offer a comprehensive service and give us plenty of input into the colour, fencing and finish. The court has sat well in its surroundings, the workmen were polite and kept to the deadlines given. We now have a great court which has had so many comments by our visitors as to how well it plays. It is so close to the house but does not in anyway dominate the space due to the way it sits within the garden design. I would highly recommend Fieldform if you are considering building a new tennis court.
