Long Jump Facility

Following the successful construction of other track and field facilities across the UK, Fieldform were appointed by Berkhamstead School to replace a tired long jump facility with a high quality, polymeric surfaced horizontal jumps facility.

To secure this project Fieldform worked closely with the School to incorporate several site-specific items including; provision of land drainage, supply of a bespoke pit cover and the installation of removable jump boards allowing the facility to be used for both long and triple jump.

The project took three weeks to complete including the off-site removal of existing materials and remediation works. Although we encountered wet weather during the build process our site team protected the surrounding areas to minimise any disturbance to the neighbouring sports pitches. We also worked closely with the Groundsman and the PE staff to ensure our construction works did not interfere with any lessons or fixtures held on the adjacent sports pitches.

The new jumps facility is now in regular use for PE lessons, internal athletics competitions and inter-school events.
